Haitian Music Jam, “Ou Se”, by Zin

Ou se, ou se, de je nan tèt mwen…
Ou se, ou se, limit chimen mwen
Ou se, ou se, sèl flè jaden mwen

You are, you are my two eyes
You are, you are, the limit of my road
You are, you are, the sole flower of my garden

Can you imagine likening another human being to your eyes? Your eyes are your body’s spiritual binoculars, your view of the world around you. The indispensable organ. This song by Zin, with Alan Cavé, singing lead, has got to be one of the most earnest songs, and one of the most memorable love songs ever.

San non kò mwen ap bouyi chak fwa ke mwen mwen sonje wou

My boil goes to a boil, every time I think of you

Goodness, gracious, what a visual! Those leukocytes and plasma on high temperature.

Cave’s voice, oh, so soft. This man has the sort of voice, the type of voice that can calm your nerves during a nuclear war, that can make you feel alright when you’re trying to hide under a rock during Armageddon.

And how about that little bridge at 1:57, that’s perfect for some bedroom belly-dancing, if you’re into that. Not me, though. This song is so unforgettable, just the same; memorable, just lovely.

Hello! This is the very first time an event like this was held anywhere in our Haitian culture. I thought it would be great to share this with you guys so you can share it with others. I am determine to try and make a difference in our HMI industry with Gods help. This event was a very successful event being it was the first one ever. We will be holding this event once a year and from the looks of things it will be getting bigger each year. I’m already working on something else that is not the same old thing that we as Haitians are not use to. We all have been asking for something new in our industry so I’m taking the lead and trying things out. Thank you and looking forward to being part of this movement. P.S I tried to send you the pictures but it wouldn’t work. The event was called Konpa Pocono Getaway.
