Did you have a nice weekend? Well, did you?
Was it nice? If it was…it was most likely not as nice as the ones some elegant-dining-loving folks in Haiti had.
The things you find out if you care to look on Facebook, if but a moment! So, over the weekend folks in Port-au-Prince had an all-white dinner party of about 700. Diner en Blanc, they call it. People showed up in their most becoming white garb, and flashy accessories and ate lots of good Haitian gourmet food!
Ah, the merriment went as far as the sky…
And oh, how old and new friends got reacquainted and acquainted, as they patted their crisp white get-ups at an ecological ranch, hundreds of feet up in the mountains. Ah, the good life.
Oh, and what decorations! Silver napkin holders…white brass eating utensils. Champagne floating in ice. What extravagance! And what are those hanging on that table…snowballs…a tropical winter wonderland, is it? Naw, it’s just Diner en Blanc in the A-Y-I-T-I.
